Despite our dreams of grandeur, infinite growth in a finite world is not going to work. No matter how much we negate the obvious, no matter how high we aim, reality will remind us its existence at some point. I am worried, I really am.
At first, when observing our species from outer space, an alien would perhaps find the situation amusing. After all, when a kid asks for a gigantic mountain of ice cream as a dessert, it may sound adorable, and bring some smiles. But the time of innocence and play is long gone. Now, as a globalized society, we keep expanding our territory, regardless of other forms of life, we keep burning forests, we keep extracting more and more energy, destroying and killing in the process. We even modeled a system in which a few select ones feel no shame exploiting the rest of the human beings, so to keep money flowing into their own pockets.
Don't get me wrong: ambition is fine, it is even necessary. But I don't see how it could act as a foundation for the negation of life itself. When I hear some world leaders saying seriously that money is much more important than life... yeah... money, that arbitrarily concept we invented ourselves, as an exchange tool, for the sake of a better... life.

Thanks for the votes, comments, and attention; much appreciated.

Outstanding - technically brilliant but also showing a unpleasant truth and great wisdom on your side.
Thanks for showing us your unfailing creativity.

And I agree with Margaret… It doesn't make any difference but what on earth makes someone to dish out a score of 2, 3 or 4???

i absolutely love how you are able to translate some of the very challenging issues we face as humans .. into amazing and thought provoking images .. even before reading your comment on this one the message is clear ..
congratulations on the blue ribbon .. and thankyou for your words ..
most of us are broken in some way .. and also unconscious .. a lot of ppl believe that what they see is all there is to it .. when there is so much more .. so there is such fear .. fear in nearly every aspect of our lives .. so of course our society suffers and also our planet ..
i truly believe in not focusing on all the negative messages we are fed in the media .. for starters .. how much of it is true .. and it can keep us weighed down in fear if we let it .. why not instead focus on all the good things that are all around us and lift the energy of the planet ..
there's a very wise saying .. what you fear you attract ..

Congrats on the Blue, Christophe!

(I know you don't care but I am very disappointed to see that 10 voters thought your work was below average)

on the backs of the worker, nicely illustrated, if the people were grabbing at the scraps of money falling would have had a bigger impact but great as it is

At last! I was hoping you might have time to enter. Thanks for another masterpiece to share with us :)

Personally, I am very pleased to have left the corporate world 17 years ago, the system got to me.
