Nice find! Some more contrast would really give this shot some punch =) |

Great subject!
I tried to do a similar photo - but it never worked out.
I would like to see this with a bump in contrast. BOL

Man, this would've been one of my top picks, but the whole image is washed out quite a bit. Would look good with more contrast and saturation...and maybe a little broader angle on the buggy so as to see a little more of the horse and side of the carriage. |

The composition is pretty good with the position of the 'buggy' and the way the fence and road lead out of the frame. The overal scene seems like it is brightened a bit or the exposure is a bit flat. Let me load it in Photoshop.......
The histogram shows that most exposure values lay in the middle, the scene has only 3 stops worth of information. By adjusting the levels you can stretch it out to five to get a better distribution. Load it into your favorite post-processing software (as long as it has levels adjustments). Now change the input values to 23 (from 0) for the left slider and 209 (from 255) for the right slider. This is just a base setting, try to experiment to get to the best settings. A levels adjustment can improve the contrast of this shot quite a bit.

Solidly low tech, not much lower: easy comparison to modern vehicles. The contrast seems a bit washed out or maybe it's hazy. (Could be fixed with unsharp trick#226 - %=20-40, radius=50-200, levels=0). |

Great subject here. Good composition with the fence posts leading the viewer in the same direction as the buggy. I find myself wishing for more of the buggy than just the rear, though. Overall, you must be pleased with the shot. |

Would have been much more interesting with the buggy coming towards us so we could see the Amish person and horse. |

The composition is very good. I would have liked it more without the sign on the buggy but otherwise, well done. Good luck. |

What an interesting photo, I like the line of previous buggies. Great fence backdrop and good color. |

You donĂ¢€™t get much lower tech than the Amish! Good choice of subject. I think this may have been better with a shallower DOF (background blurred). |

This is the highest rating i'm giving this challenge. I think you really captured the theme of the challenge. Your picture is beautiful; nice, soft colors, great composition. I actually think the grainy aspect helps impart that "old world" feel. Well done and best of luck - you deserve to ribbon with this! |

Seems a bit dull / hazy - try USM amount 30%, radius 60 and t-hold 0. The back and undercarriage of hte buggy are still abit dark/dull, but that is another adjustment. Nice composition, lighting (time of day choice) |
