WOW .. 7th place .. i'm pretty pleased with that considering the calibre of abstract images that entered the challenge ..
i took this especially for this challenge and its not archival .. in fact all the archival challenges i've entered lately have been taken after the challenge has been announced ..

after this had gone in for voting ... of course .. i realized that i should have cropped the top a bit so it was less obvious what this was ..

who does that a lot .?.
something goes in for voting and then you have the ahha moment .. !!?? .. me .. ;)

anyway ... thankyou thankyou everyone for your comments during voting .. much appreciated .. xx

*gasp*

This is FABULOUS, Roz!

Yipppeee for a Top Ten with such great competition. You certainly compete with ease in any category.

And yet, I still really, really, really like you, friend. *ha!*

Congratulations!

I would not have trim the top Roz! terrific image. I started to comment and then I got sidetracked.
The multiple possibilities of this image are making it abstract even if I recognized the steamer. A beehive in a steamer! seriously good

Thanks for explaining me. Finally I unterstand that the vergetable steamer is a circular basket anyway - I didn't get that before ... I use a pressure cooker so this item wasn't familiar to me... lol

Glad you didn't crop it - the upper part is interesting and abstract enough! If if cropping at all then crop it at the bottom and on the sides and make a square out of it
But how did you do it? Just shoot into your sink from above? And then?

thankyou so much for your comment Barbara .. i kept the bottom so there was more of the 'funnel' coming down from the 'space ship' .. into the darkness sort of .. like a bit foreboding ..

The title is a bit deflating for me. Just call it "Invasion"? Let the viewer make out the kind of invasion.
Well done anyway.

Never thought a folding steamer would scare the hell out of me...I like the crispness and colours. Top 3

I think I can make sense of this...but it's tricky! Nice shot.
