Kylie:

I gave this a seven and meant to get back to comment. Colors and cropping were the two things that stood out in my mind, but, the lighting casting the interesting shadows was decent as well.

"cracking image" isn't a phrase I use much, but I think I agree. Nicely done.

Kylie, this is a cracking image!

I didn't vote in the challenge, though I did look through the entries, (quickly) and I remember seeing this one. It stuck in my mind.

The contrasting colurs are great, the yellow on the orangy red of the wall, did you manipulate the colours much, at all?

The shadows caused by the blinds are magnificent, they add depth and a feeling of being there, they somehow make it so real.

The subject itself is quite interesting and that's the key for me, take an interesting subject and add dramatic lighting, shoot from a interesting, original, different angle and you end up with something like this. I know its not automated like that but that's how I disect it.

I just hope you remember me, and invite me to the opening night at your gallery!

I agree with banmorn. You got robbed. Great colors and shadows. I gave it an 8. Maybe, just maybe I would have tried to extend the left side during crop to show more of the hour hand.

I recall seeing this during the voting but never got back to vote or comment. It is a tremendous accomplishment and a photo you should be proud to have taken. Outstanding in every way compositionally and the technical stuff doesn't get in the way. Very nice!

I think this one should have ranked higher. You could have adjusted the clock to 5 and flipped it horizontaly.

Title is dead on. Good colours, great shadows and light. I think that the cropping is to tight on the right, top and bottom

Love the title for this photo. Your use of geometrical shape, color and lighting makes it very appealing.
