 Wholemeal scones

2 cups wholemeal self-raising flour
1 cup self-raising flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 cup milk
45 g butter melted
2 tbs honey

Method:

Preheat oven to 220C.
Sift flours and cinnamon into bowl.

Combine milk, melted butter and honey, then pour into flour and mix.
Roll dough out to approximately 2 cm thickness, cut with scone cutter.
Bake for 12 minutes or until golden.

They’re not very puffy, probably because I used salted butter.


Thank you so much for all the very nice comments. My son was rewarded for his effort in posing for this photo, he had just finished working at his part time job and he was pretty famished, so I let him eat all three scones.

oh .. ps .. i used to make scones back when i was a teenager .. when we had lots of family coming over .. i'd make a scone loaf .. and put different types of fruit in them .. like one time i might put in dates .. another pears .. whatever was handy .. those loaves were usually eaten that very same day .. as i can imagine your scones would be ..
they are usually a lot better eaten same day .. just out of the oven .. warm .. so that the butter melts ..

very reminiscent of a wonderful neat image .. this looks like the blue to me .. loving the whole setup and the lighting .. whatever they are i want one .. !! ..
