 I tried to get this image for several months, but either the position wasn't quite right or the weather didn't cooperate. This particular night didn't look promising either since the sky was overcast, but the satellite view showed a break in the clouds heading for NY so a friend and I took a chance... and got it! We had to run to the car before the gate was locked immediately after this shot, and the moon was completely obscured by clouds 15 minutes later.

This was a combination of two bracketed exposures. A third, brighter exposure was too blurry to use thanks to a stiff breeze shaking the tripod, and I ran the normal exposure through Topaz Stabilize to deal with a slight blur on that one, too. The moon moves surprisingly fast when you're dealing with small angles, and we were scrambling around trying to get in the right position during the few seconds that everything lines up.
