Please check out Sara R's comment. Her grandfather thatched this building in the 1950s !!! What a wonderful coincidence.

I read what you wrote and I love stories like this. Beautiful shot of this quaint Inn.

A photo of a pub on Exmoor will always get my vote! And a mighty fine pub too! How crazy that Sara's grandfather thatched the roof - small world! Congrats on the TT! You sure managed to fit plenty of great locations into your trip.

I'm not quite sure when he turned his hand to thatching - for most of my mother's childhood at any rate. He gave up when he fell off a ladder and broke his back.

That’s SO COOL!!

Nice looking roof. The sky has a nice cloud formation, Overall a clean sharp picture and my favorite in this challenge.

So fun to view these since there's nothing like this around here. Somehow they look a bit like mushroom tops! Nice shot.

what i really like about this is the sunlight .. the shadows .. the way i've been taken into another world just about .. and the those roofs ..
how amazing are they .. the potted plants hanging .. so cute .. and the sky ..what a great backdrop to this scene .. :)

Very nice thatched roof but the rooftop is not the main subject of the photo
