Two laser pointers $20
One Nikon 60/2.8D micro $520
One LED flashlight $32
A pack of Winstons $3

Seeing physics at work
right in front of you: Priceless.

The hardest part is to aim the lasers and to light the whole thing with a flashlight while blowing smoke to make the lasers visible, and hitting the camera remote at the same time.

I know it would be better composition-wise if light was coming from the left. Didn't think about it at the time.

Basic and trivial post processing. I wish it was advanced editing, so i could clone out the glare from the lasers in front of the lens.

Very clever, great picture although a bit off the challenge subject.

Authority? Okay, If you say so...
The thing I like best about this image is that it's a Nikkor lens. lol

Very eye catching. Which way is the laser entering the lens? Cool photo. A bit of a stretch to meet the challenge to me. Is the blue tone intentional?

Even though it stretches the limits of the challenge, it is a very interesting shot.

interesting image, quite sure it was not too easy to set up. unfortunately, without the title, i'd see no tie to the challenge. also, the hotspot on the lens is somewhat distracting.

nice but it would maybe be better is it had some more beams and then it would look cool but hey that is my opinion....

This is cool.... I don't know that I connect natural laws with authority so much.... but once again... this is cool - 7.

I love the shot. I just don't think it fits this category.

Great idea but could be improved in lighting and some minor stuff, anyway I give this one a 8

nice pic, not sure it says "authority" to me

Very nice interpretation of authority. I never thought about the laws of nature. I know you couldn't help that, but the light on the bottom on the right side doesn't fit into the composition. I don't like the dark backgound because the lens is dark too. But there's no other way to show the laser, except if you used some smoke. You might have used a cigarette. I don't want to encourage you to smoke, though!

Very good shot as well as a nice play with physics!
Most people do not understand what light will do when it passes through the various optics in a lens.

Does not fit the challenge well.

Hmm...not quite making the connection with authority, but nice shot of the laser.
