I am not fish expert but I believe the fish monger said they are sprats. They were very cheap and I suspect they were riddled with bones so I didn't eat them. I had intended to buy sardines but they didn't have any so I got these instead. When I suggested this challenge I had intentions to do something more adventurous but life got in the way and it was a last minute simple photo.

The sardines I was just going to replicate this photo I took about a year ago - again very simple and on the same slate tile

Trust me when I say this is a compliment, this photo immediately think this was done by hajeka. Not so much on here, but his FaceBook page, is dedicated to food he has, prepares and photo's every day. And it is this simple stunning image that he does all the time, that makes it a classic, timeless, award winning shot. This is so simple, but as you can see, has been complimented on so many times. IT is fabulous, you have done an amazing job on this. Well done
