done for the resolution side challenge for january

my theme is composites, overlays or textures ..

this is maddy .. she is a 3 month old staffy puppy ..
i needed some work done around my house .. i found a guy online .. and after some convo we decided it was aok for him to bring his family when he did the work .. his wife .. four year old twin boys and a cute baby puppy .. who .. of course .. is part of the family ..
a good time was had by all ..
i was in my happy place taking photos .. and they enjoyed being here where little maddy could run around and play with katee .. and the boys .. went wild .. lol ..

this pic is of maddy wanting to come inside when i was talking with her mum .. in the original photo the screen was overpowering .. so i did a alien skin/snap art/impasto action .. to make it look more painted .. it looked ok .. but i added some other photos as overlays for our side challenge ..

There is a little sadness to this image. With your accompanying notes all is fine. The nice uniform overlay texture works like bokeh to isolate Maddy.

What a cutie, you did him justice.

You certainly managed to subdue the screen -- I only notice it in a few places and even there it's not overwhelming. It always amazes me how a judiciously applied texture or overlay can help.

I love the look and the feel of this one. You are certainly the queen of overlays. What an amazing job you are doing with these.

This is just wonderful, Roz. It looks like it should be an illustration in a picture/story book. You must have had fun with a puppy and two little boys!

Wow, you're really knocking out the images! I'm going to try to get out there tomorrow (s'posed to warm up a bit to mid-40s) and maybe shoot some new stuff.. try to catch up with you! I don't quite follow what you did here but it works very well with this image. It has a painterly feel to it. Cute dog!
