"My environment"

It's currently very cold. Sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday. It got down to -6 degrees with 25 mph winds New Year's night. It wasn't snowing, but the wind was picking up enough snow that it was almost like a blizzard. I made numerous trips out to the greenhouse during the night to be sure the heat was still on, and snow wasn't finding a way in through some crack or fissure. Ended up cranking up the propane as far as it would go, and we all made it through the night, but I did not sleep.

It warmed up to nearly freezing yesterday, but got really cold again last night. We got down to about 10 degrees, but we were warm compared to the San Luis Valley, a little south of here. It got down to -24 in Alamosa and -33 in Waverly. If they had the winds we had, I cannot even imagine what the windchills were. Another night with very little sleep.

Amazingly, it is supposed to be in the mid 50's tomorrow and reach the 60's by the weekend. The plants will be a little confused, I fear, but they won't freeze.

I feel like there's a texture applied here, but I may be wrong - in any case, the textural look overall has the effect of making the icicles seem to have frozen into and of a piece with the blue sky and snow beyond it, which is very fitting :)

That snow looks so crazy. It looks like a swarm of bugs flying at night. The icicles are beautiful.

Icicles! That says it all! Stay warm and enjoy the warmer temps!

Super combination of textures -- the icicles, the wood, and the blowing snow. You really get the idea of winter in the mountains across to us.

Brrr! You've captured the cold well. Nice detail in the icicles. The temperature has been up and down where I live also. Noticed some trees with buds on them last night. They are going to be upset when more freezing weather comes.

Icicles and snow - chilly environment nicely exposed. Nice angle for the shot.

The sun shines, the old snowflakes dance, the icicles are melting, the house is losing its layer of paint and yet, your picture shows some hope

The colors and light are wonderful in this one and I enjoy the texture the blowing snow adds to the sky. Your temps sound like ours. Sooooo cold on the first - up 10-15 degrees on the second - light jacket weather today - and it's supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow which is a heat wave here in the winter. CRAZY!
San Luis . . . California?
