Side challenge - use the real camera.

Taken in late December when I decided I'd best see if the real camera still worked. This is Edgar, either mid-yawn or pretending he's a Big Cat.

(Oh, he definitely thinks he's a Big Cat, by the way. Except if anyone comes to the house. Then he hides.)

To answer mariuca's question - I shoot 99.9% of the time in aperture priority mode. About 80% of the time, I shoot on whatever I left the aperture the last time I picked up the camera. Sometimes, and this may have been one of them, I do note the aperture and set it for something in particular. Here, I did want a shallow aperture to blur the background. Then I chack to see if the ISO is high enough to check the motion. To be honest, I only check that once in awhile. Happened to work out here. :-)

lol, they always look so fierce captured this way - I think the slanted lines of the blinds in the background enhance the image

Great cat shot. Between the teeth and the whiskers, you'd better watch your back!

The cats whiskers exploding out, mouth stretched wide and showing teeth reminds me of Munch's The Scream. As quiet as China on New Years Day.

I prefer to think he's pretending to be a big cat . . . and doing a very convincing job of it, too. Great job, both of you. Look at those whiskers!!

One of the most interesting cat pics.
Do you remember how you set your camera? Low ISO and wide open aperture, 1/640 - which one came first?

ah, now that feels good. what a feast of lines, fine lines, soft lines, black lines white lines. Edgar likes that lens.

Edgar is cute. His positioning and big yawn remind me of the Jaguar on a hood ornament.

He looks like he's a Big Cat! Even though I knew otherwise right from the beginning, before reading your notes, that is what thought.
