Challenge: Black & White II (Basic Editing I)
Collection: Portfolio
Camera: Sony DSC-F707
Location: Paradise, Wa
Date: Nov 13, 2004
Aperture: f8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/250
Galleries: Landscape, Black and White
Date Uploaded: Nov 16, 2004

Taken at Paradise near Mt. Rainier in Washington. I used some basic levels adjustments and a balck and white channel mixer for the tones. If this were for the advanced editing challenge I probably would dodge some of the foreground elements to make them stand out a little more.

This is a pretty cool shot you've got here. I love Mount Ranier, I haven't ever been there with my digital camera, but I have hiked there when I was younger. The most amazing shot of Mount Ranier I have seen is taken by a photographer I know: //livingwilderness.com/mountains/tipsoo.html. Course, it isn't in bw. But the shot here you've got is pretty cool as well. Ok, ending my ramble.

Striking, but maybe a bit too complex? How about cropping the bottom third away? 7

Tough shot to pull off. The snow on the mountain seems a bit burned out. Maybe a tighter crop (eliminating the snow in the foreground) would be better.

Very nice. I like how there are different natural layers of light and dark. Nice contrast.

Perfect shot, and interesting foreground, brilliant background and detailed middle ground, and perfectly exposed. Congrats to you!

A little too much foreground in this beautiful image. Cut some of it so the the lake is more a complement to the mountain.

Bill told me his friend took Mt. Rainier. Quite nice! A bit over-exposed though.
