this could use a bit more focus.

This feels like a yearbook photo. Take more of a risk with her.

The soft focus just makes it seem out of focus :(
11/21/2004 08:39:57 PM
Too unfocused for my tastes.

The photo looks out of focus... i tried to see if it was a soft focus effect, but no it does seem to be out of focus

Maybe you are going for a soft look, but I'd like a sharper focus.

Seems a bit out of focus.

11/19/2004 01:41:38 PM

Too soft. Pretty face though!
11/19/2004 03:39:05 AM
Sorry, out of focus!
11/18/2004 11:35:51 AM
You have some nice lighting on the face and the catchlights look good in her eyes, but the image is too fuzzy. I'm not sure if this was camera movement or an attempt at soft focus, but I think it takes away from an otherwise good photo.

her face is soft
11/18/2004 06:24:28 AM
out of focus...

Appears to be out of focus (maybe that's intentional?)
11/17/2004 08:59:45 PM
Nice subject and pose. She certainly is lovely :)

Portraiture work is generally accepted as best when the eyes of the subject are in clear(est) focus. I tend to agree. Your photo would also be improved, in my opinion, with the contrast level reduced to enhance the shade gradient across the forehead etc. Otherise, good crop and framing. Well done. 3.

wayyyy out of focus. In portraits, especially close up portraits like this one, the eyes HAVE to be in focus and sharp.
11/17/2004 06:25:59 PM
Focus is just a bit too soft, imo.
11/17/2004 04:04:00 PM
focus needs to be sharper I'm afraid - try focussing on the eyes - the most important part of any portrait.
11/17/2004 02:06:11 PM
focus?
11/17/2004 11:19:33 AM
Focus
11/17/2004 10:46:55 AM
I never have liked soft focus shots.
11/17/2004 03:04:45 AM
This seems OOF to me. Also there is something just over her right shoulder in the photo that distracts.
11/17/2004 02:51:18 AM
focus seems a bit off to me
11/17/2004 12:43:50 AM
I gave it a better vote thatn it deserves due to the poor quality, but I do like the title, and she looks so real.
