This was one of the more difficult setups that I have attempted and I had several failures before success in getting the final shot. The cups were gently glued together and were stabilized by a very thin nylon fishing line fixed from above but balance was critical.
I had titled my entry and entered it a day before the deadline. The day of the deadline at work I was looking at the finished project and saw a slight problem I corrected in photoshop. When I hastily re entered the picture I was amiss in re entering the title and correcting the void in the bottom right as a result of cropping. When I saw those errors after the voting had started I knew I would be marked down for that. So thank you all for overlooking my error. I am thrilled with getting a ribbon.
Here are the set up pictures. The first picture shows how I supported the cups in order to fill them with the colored water. When everything was set I removed the wood supports below and the ones attached to the cups. This was rather nerve wracking because if my plan did not work it would all fall apart and I would have to start all over again.
The second picture shows the original final picture before cropping and adjustments.
