i am not sure the square crop works for me the mushroom is also a bit to large and distracts (my) attention for the butterfly

I wish the butterfly were on an intersection of the thirds lines...

butterfly, close-up, and mushroom photos are difficult to sell, but you have done admirably. this is about pattern, texture and DOF.

Very nicely done, but I think the crop is actually a bit uncomfortable. This is one of the few times where I really would have liked to have the butterfly on the true 1/3 (vertically and horizontally), not just vertically. Otherwise nicely done. Looks like an American Lady?

That's adorable! I'd include just a tad more empty space on the left, if I could. Put the little guy smack in the middle of the ROT intersection, especially for this challenge. Of course, you may not have had more grass over there, so my point may be moot. Still a nice image which meets the challenge.
