Depends on the lens/ISO combination (assuming the aperture would be wide open. I've gotten incredible star fields and MW with an f/1.4 at ISO 3200 and a 4 sec exposure.


my point is re the silhouette not the star field.....

Will be curious to understand after the challenge if this is a single capture or stacked to get the shadows on even the reins so sharp but capture the stars too - stunning image! 10

Man and horse spoil this one for me (especially the fact you still can see some detail in the man, I would prefer a 100% silhouette in this kind of image), but a great sky!
