 Chris was my nephew. My oldest sister's second of two children. On July 25, 2015, Christopher was shot and killed in front of his house in a random act of gang violence. To this day, they have not caught the murderer. Chris was 19 years young. He loved hockey and cars. My sister gave me one of his hockey jerseys when I was down in San Jose for his memorial service. This jersey hangs in my office studio and there's not a day that don't look at it and remember him. He was FULL of life since he was born and was always a character. I didn't see him often over the paste few years before his death, but I miss him every time I think of him.

I laid the jersey over my keyboard and put up some of the images of Chris that sit in my screensaver folder along with thousands of other family pics. The image isn't great and won't score well, but I am thankful I had this opportunity to memorialize him here on DPC.

Lastly, Christopher's death occurred while I was on hiatus from DPC. In those two years I was away, I lost my nephew, my dog (Kirby) and my grandfather. Coincidence? Probably. ;-)
