Challenge: Crummy Weather (Standard Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-6D
Lens: Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART for Canon
Location: Norman, OK
Date: May 18, 2017
Aperture: f/5.7
ISO: 200
Shutter: 30s
Date Uploaded: May 18, 2017

Looking east from Norman, Oklahoma after a severe thunderstorm.

Photo was taken from my balcony, which was built specifically for weather observation. The house was destroyed last year by a lightning-induced fire and is currently being rebuilt, so I've been compulsively checking on it after every thunderstorm. Glad I brought a camera & tripod this time!

Post-processing: adjusted levels, white gradient mask (soft light) to lighten bottom half, cloned out hot pixels, slight sharpening & noise reduction.

Hard to beat lightning for a great image of bad weather. Lovely colors in the sky.
