Personally I'd have cropped off the unopened bud. I find it detracts from the beauty of the open flower. |

There are a lot of flower close ups, but few to match this one.
The framing is simply outstanding and the black background brings out the color of the bloom. The beaded water droplets finish this one off nicely. One mark of a good photographer is to make a shot look natural. I suspect effort was involved here. This is no snapshot. |

beautiful, just beautiful! it's a 10... good thing i didn't submit my picture of my blooming christmas cactus for this challenge - i had the same idea, even sprayed some water on it for droplets and everything, but my takes didn't even come close to this! |

A very clear and professional looking picture with perfect lighting. The selective use of water is well done too. Perhaps I would have cropped a little stronger on the top and the bottom of this shot. But that's only marginal. Great work, good luck! |

Wow - great shot of a Christmas cactus!! Impressed that yours is still blooming at this time of year. Your focus is impressive, and the lighting is excellent. |

A nice presentation of this Christmas Cactus. My only nit is that I would have moved the camera just a little to the right so that the petal wouldn't be sticking out of the backside of the cactus leaf. |

I like the black bg. Good lighting. A little too much water IMO. Somehow the composition isn't quite right. I think it's the two flowers competing for attention since they are stacked on top of eachother. Might be nice without the top bud. 7 |

This is a beautiful Christmas cactus, with or without the water. To me if you are going to put water on any of it you should have put it on all of it, including the fully bloomed flower. Personally I don't feel the water really adds anything to a photo. The focus on this is fantastic. Nice choice of blooms, not too many but just enough, especially one open and one closed. Great choice. Could be a wonderful piece of art - decide about the water. Course this is just my opinion. |

The colours look fantastic but the composition is a little "out". In my opinion something is not quite right. Maybe a glimse of the inside of the flower might complete the picture. |

Im getting so so so sick of looking at flowers, but this is a refreshing interesting one! Thank you! Is it upside down? Is it a praying mantis plant? I can't tell. What I can tell is that the shape of this rare plant lends itself perfectly into your creative composition. The water drops are a nice touch. Definetely my favorite flower this week! |

I think there is too much in this picture. Technically I think it looks very good. Color is nice, everything is in sharp focus. I think it would be better with softer lighting and some color in the background. I would have liked it more if it was more focused on a single part of the plant.
