OK, so this really isn't a macro shot in the traditional sense. This domino is actually about 15 feet tall (it's standing on its end). Shot with my 50mm lens.

Editing steps as best I can remember, using Adobe® Photoshop® CS:
-Convert from raw. Used default settings except Shadows=16
Levels

**The next 2 steps were to hide some dirt and smudges on the domino**
Selective colors to drop lightness on neutral channels
Hue/Saturation Adjustments to increase saturation and lightness on blue channel (I think +30 on each of those settings

Resize
USM - 100%, raduis 2, threshold 2
Convert to 8 bits/channel
Convert to sRGB

Hmmmm,WOW! Hmmmm....dear SC......LOL! It came it aout really nice and the composition really makes it look like you got in realy close. I might have thought about knocking off the dot and partial on the right just for abstract purposes....but that is probably just me! Good luck.

Either that's a huge domino or you have a macro lense with IMENSE depth of field. I've never seen a macro lense get that much clearly in focus. Is it even possible? In any case, the effect remains and meets the challenge perfectly. - 8

There isnt enough in this photo to held my interest. No texture, shading, just lots of flat colours. It doesnt appeal to me, sorry.

Oh, very nice... Good job of showing us a very small part of something and yet making it immediately recognizable!

This makes my eyes buggy. Kind of like a 3D effect. It's weird like that. But I like it. The background is very nice. Nothing distracting there. My only tiny nit pic is that there are a couple scratches in the lower right of the photo on the domino. Otherwise, nothing to complain about! Definately extreme close up. ~Heather~
