The lighting on this is great. He has a kindness about his expression. Great closeup.

Hey there :) !

A visit from the critique club :-)

I think the photo is very worthy of the score. There is quite a lot of detail in this photo, the exposure is perfect, focus is great and you have an excellent subject here.

The only thing I could possibly want is a bit more depth of field but I think it's is excellent as it is. And it even looks like she has a smile on her face :)

Excellent detail! Lighting is perfect. I would have liked more depth of field, but I've shot images similar to this and it's so hard to get the DOF and have a reasonable shutter speed, especially with an uncooperative, moving subject! I like the hint of green in the background. Very nice, I give it an 8

great dof... nearly perfect.. just a tigher crop on the left is all it needs. cut out the empty space and fill the shot with the beast.. :o)

I love lizards! You have captured this one in a photo excellently! I like the DOF, bringing the face out as the focal point. Great detail captured, and excellent composition. 10

Really good focus and dof use. Nice lighting too. Good composition. Not something I'd hang on my wall personally (maybe in b&w) but technically very good.

I would have cropped this photo for less background on the left.

It makes a change from cats that's for sure!
Wow at all those pointy bits on it's face, and well done on capturing them with such great detail. Lighting and use of DoF are spot on, and the composition/pose is excellent. Nice job.

Wow, what a shot, Excellent focus. Not my favorite thing to look at (I'm a girly girl) but I an really appreciate that this must have been difficult to capture. Good job.

Not sure this is that cliché but this is one fantastic macro. The lighting, composition and DOF all work very well together, this photo could make National Geographic. Great Job. 10

You did a fantastic job of photographing a tough animal to get a good one of. Don't even mind the dof, even though it's not my favorite. The clarity of the head and neck more than make up for any shortcoming anywhere else. Great one. Love it. There are a couple of light spots in your background along the back that don't help, and I know that appears to be nit-picking, especially after excusing the out of focus area. Just thought I'd mention it. Good photo. I love it.

Nice focus, DOF. Perhaps a little more green in the background would improve this IMO. 7
