*** MY VERY FIRST CHALLENGE ENTRY ***

I got notice of the challenge, glanced out my window and saw my little statue of "The Thinker" sitting on my window sill covered in dust and spiderwebs and - voila! - "Indecision" or "Thinking Too Much". I know it's not specifically about the election, but I thought it fit anyway. I did a little cropping, contrasting and sharpening in Photoshop. This is my first ever entry.

Aug 2008: He's still sitting there, but has company now:

October 2017: Death of the Thinker
I bumped him off the shelf and he is now a paraplegic. Not that he ever got off his ass anyway.

I don't remember seeing this, though I voted on it ... but, hey, that was back in 2004.
So, what is the state of the statue now? That's what we all want to know.

This was before my time, so it's my first time seeing it. What a wonderful image! It should be a poster for our times! We've all been granted the wonderful faculty of thought and reasoning, but how many people actually use it 100%? In fact in most people it has atrophied...what a wonderful symbolic representation of this.

Love the idea of this one, shame about the burnt out highlights and quality. Still going straight to favourites though.

Unfortunately the original was a real crappy photo:

I took about 20 shots from different angles and most of them came out real bad. I'm not sure why (other than the fact that I don't know what I'm doing). ;-)

Here is the "almost entered" alternate:

and its original:

Yes, those are real cobwebs! :( I'm waiting for the challenge titled "Cleaning Your Office" :-)

Exceptional! The web idea is great! I like the over-processed contrastly look as well. Nice job!

Great idea. Did you have any with his left arm and leg in the frame? I think it might have brought it more along the thirds on the left side. Good find.

Nice statement on how indecsion can freeze processes. Great color & lighting. Wonder how you did the cobwebs. -9-

i think this image could win. the only things holding it back are its a little over-contrasty, as well as its not quite as sharp as it could be. did you use digital zoom or a lot of cropping? either way, the subject matter is great and that alone may carry this to a ribbon. good luck.

Great shot. Detail is lost in the shadows on the face though, not sure if that might've helped. The black and white is called for but the bright spots on the statue seem a bit too bright. Good composition.
