I've recently had surgery. So... I only had a short time to shoot... but... all three of our boys were here this weekend to see me... they had an even shorter time to shoot.

It's amazingly hard to "see" what an image will look like rotated 180 degrees.

I wish I'd had the sitting guy (upper left) falling over a bit...

But, no time to reshoot. I had only the one chance and this is the best of the lot.

So, like it. Or don't. I really don't love it.

But, I really hate Minimal editing. This looks SO much better cropped and edited. *sigh*

*sigh again*

Apparently, I viewed this image in Windows Image Viewer (as I always do with any images I shoot for challenges)... BUT... I must have rotated my entry in Windows Image Viewer.

I KNOW not to do that... yet... I must have or SC would not be asking me again for my original.

It stinks... but it's got to be my fault... this upcoming DQ. *heavy sigh*

Let this be lesson to us all. Do NOT view your image in Windows Viewer if you're going to be tempted to rotate it to see it before you edit it.

SC is totally within the rules to DQ this image.

I respect their authority 100%.

But, it sucks. :D

Warm congratulations to Mark (Cuttooth) for his new Red Ribbon!

Lydia, Sorry to hear this and hope that your experience has remedied the procedure's underlying cause(s). Be well :) and hope you can get all of your boys back again soon, and under happier circumstances.

Sorry too, in learning about the BS DQ. Another example of why from the sidelines I only silently root for you all in what seems like an array of bewildering constraints.

The unspoken art in 'Boys will be Boys', and other BS DQs, is navigation of a system of rules that generally remain unseen and which I've never understood. God's speed to all of you that do!

Oh, so sorry about the DQ - I like this shot a lot!
For me it was indeed a helpful lesson: I didn't know that rotating in Windows Image Viewer does change/ruin exifs for minimal.
Don't feel glum, Lydia, you're going to have more ribbons in the future

This was one of my top two picks so I am very sorry for your DQ, I hope you sort out your workflow for the future. On a separate note what happened to the comment I left during voting? Did you see it or did I click the wrong button after entering it?

It sucks! (the DQ of course). Great entry and all the more of a credit to you because you are convalescing and somewhat limited in what you can do. Best wishes - hope you are completely well again soon.

Love your concept, execution I think would be stronger minus the window.
