Several weeks ago, I saw a guy living underneath this beach walkway. I didn't have my camera at the time...but I came back a couple days ago and took a picture. He may live in poverty...but his "home" is right next to the beach!

Howdy from the CC!

This shot has an interesting composition, good focus, and nice lighting (although a polarizer might help bring out the blue in the sky). If it were in a different challenge, it would probably do fine...but in the Poverty challenge, I agree with some of the previous commenters that it's just difficult to discern the poverty aspect without knowing the story behind the photo. I think that having the person actually being in the shot would make a huge difference.

All that being said, I think the shot is an interesting landscape study with both positive attributes and points upon which improvements can be made. Have fun and keep shooting! :o)

i'd crop it differently and probably wouldn't waited for a sunset/sunrise to get some more shadows, but good comp.

Does someone live under here? if so, it's not clear. Nice composition on the subject, but i don't get the connection to poverty

Is there someone living under that overlook? Seeing him/her would have made this a believable photo. Right now it's just a photo of the overlook.

Not sure a photo of a deck evokes poverty for me. However as a photograph you have got a good compositional balance, and some sharp focusing

Um... poverty. yeah. ok. Are there people living under that thing? Sorry just don't get this on any level. It's probably me though.

verry nice texture and color. Would have done better in if some one was actually in the "home"

It would be more impessive if you had someone dressed as a tramp lounging around but I get your interpretation

I think it would be better if there was evidence supporting the title.
