Great B&W tones in this photo. The delicate balance of the human form is in direct contrast/juxtaposition to the brick wall. I see composition as more than just a nude but a study in the human form that can be flexible & adaptive in contrast to the unyielding nature/form of the brick wall representing man's structures we build.
Strangely enough, I want a title for this one. (only strange, because I really don't care for titles. Many times I only look at them after the fact or if I want more information on the photo. I like a photo to stand by itself and not rely on a title. That being said, this one makes me curious without one, and leaves me a bit unsettled. Part of the pose seems melancholy and lonely, but the being up on the toes makes it look a little too contrived to be very emotional. I feel like I'm missing something, and I wanted the pieces of the puzzle filled in. 7 as is, a little more natural I think would have been higher. Still not quite sure...
What are you saying here? I think I'm illiterate now. What are you saying that your photographic being... is?
I think that this is the ... grainiest of your images that I remember seeing.
Am I missing the message?
I'm confused... and wanting more.
This is good. :D
I don't think that the window adds anything... (I've just noticed this as I see the comments box's view. I think it detracts, actually. Try cropping it out!)
What are you saying about yourself in this image?
I hope you'll explain in your notes.
I like the image. Very much.
In fact, I think it's my favorite of your nudes.
So much emotion... with just the suggestion of nude.
Not "in your face" nude... just... the emotion of it all.
Well done. Very well done, Paul.
I don't understand who you are as you've defined yourself in this image (according to what I've known about you before), but... I really like you in this image.
I guess this should not be unexpected from you, but that was my first reaction. I think if I break it down in pieces (lines, textures, form, beauty) it is what you do best, but the end result here is rather startling... and I mean that in a good way. That light (window) is fantastic.
The human female figure, beautiful, flawed, made more beautiful beacuse of this, in the context of architectural decay. Inspiring, provoking, visceral, lingering, sublime.
