This is one of my Cambridge SoundWorks satellite speakers from a 4.1 surround system, which are usefully cuboid things. I took this from an upwards angle, coz it'd be boring just square on, plus you'd see all the little dents in the cover ;o)

The original was cropped, rotated a touch, levels adjusted, colourised to blue, focus sharpened, and double bordered.

Hi, Manic!! Here are my thoughts. Of course my square shot stank so feel free to ignore me.
*lol* at some of your comments. You got a lot of them! This photo isn't very easy on the eyes. It's simple and straight forward. It fits the challenge. All those holes and that bright glare just turns me off. I do like the color, but it's too bright. I also think it's a little weird to see a bg on just 3 sides and have the 3rd cropped like it is. I have to agree that it's just a little boring. If you're gonna have such a simple subject then it's gotta be presented in a really interesting or different way. Maybe an abstract but definitely different lighting. I really don't know what else to say about it. The focus and quality seem good. I don't really think that many people COULD take a much better picture of this subject so... It all goes back to coming up with a good idea in the first place. Just don't come to me for ideas cause I don't have any :P

My eyes are bugging out looking at that speaker grill on my monitor. Nice shot, but I can't stand to look at it.

Looks like it would make a good ad photo. Good job.

Composition: Good, but could be a bit more interesting?
Technical: Good use of colour. Slight noise in background?
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: Good, but grill part seems to dominate the pic. 6

Is this your computer sound system or your house sound system. If it is your house sound system you spent a small fortune. Besides that I think the light on the bottom edge is a bit harsh. It does appear that you sued a diffused light like a soft box. Nopt sure how I would fix this.

It's a very good image, i'd have liked to have seen a little more contrast with the background

This is very pretty, I love the glowing effect. Seems it could have gained from a slightly longer DOF, little fuzzy in the back. While pretty, and square it doesn't capture me the way some of the other photos today have, sorry. 6
