"Sleeping Pets" was a very exciting challenge topic. Sadly, my pet died in 2012. I'm pleased my entry provided an outlet for so many DNMC comments and low votes. It's okay! And, I interpret the low votes as a backhanded tribute to my beloved Maggie.

Powerful action shot, just stretching it a bit to stay on topic?

Somehow "shoehorn" comes to my mind...

Lovely shot though.

I'm missing both the pet and the sleeping part. :D

You let a bird eat your pet fish?!

Ummm, nope. The fish is not a pet (at least I certainly hope not), nor is the bird, and neither are sleeping. Nice catch of the catch, however!

Nice photo, but a shoehorn in my eyes. You can try to argue that the fish was sleeping in your title, but do I have you on the fact that the fishy was no one's pet? I thinks I do!
