Challenge: With the Philosophy of Ubique (Advanced Editing VII)
Date: Apr 4, 2015
Date Uploaded: Apr 4, 2015

I used lightroom to process the exposure adjustments, lightroom to saturate to black and white then Nik Viveza for structure and contrast to bring out a dirtier look for the fingers. dodged burned in lightroom around the edges of the top around the index finger and the back where
the hand/thumb is.. Then used the black and white green filter, adjusted a few colors within that, then did split toning for a more sepia kinda of look. I added a heavy vignette and used photoshop to resize and crop.

[Apr. 8th, 2015 03:15:03 PM]

This photo was specially promoted on a HQSP community on google + on April 5th. Very happy with that promotional honor.

Added:
I used my 28mm macro, I wanted to try something close and tight without having too much to deal with, the light came from natural southern windows which I opened up. No flashes. Hubby did wash his hands after the photos. :-))

Could be that the square equals the green setting on a Canon?
Or that this is your plaything, so dirty hands are allowed.

I'll smack you if you pick up my one and only slr with those... hehe.

This reminds me of my brother, a master mechanic; his hands were always stained even when clean. I can see him doing just this and I miss him. Nice tones, very Ubique, and thanks for the memories.

While I get the idea of extremes, grimy fingers only make me think "Purell"...a bit to close up for me.

I still don't understand the DPC motif of dirty hands.

One of those game controllers, yes? (I've never owned one of those devices. Apparently just come in from work straight to play given the grunge.

Dirty and dark, with a story somewhere I would like to hear.

well done. The framing is perfect and there is just enough enigma and authenticity to keep in interesting.

Amusing juxtaposition, I like how how have communicated a clear message within such a tight composition. You've done this so effectively that you title is redundant. That's an accomplishment in itself.

great anachronism, fingers are straight out of 1930s, and the camera... you know

Very nice tones. And a lovely, cosseting vignette with blur. Always a favourite combination of mine. Thank you.
