This is so not the picture I wanted. But that's what I get for waiting until the last moment... :)

Transit? Transition? Nah.

I think you're midway between two effects -- an image with a wide range of grey tones and a silhouette shot of the bus and the sign. Playing with the exposure to push it one way or the other might have yielded a picture with a higher impact.

wish there had been some darker tones in this.

the balck and white sky comes out really well.
04/27/2002 10:50:00 AM
I like the black and white for this shot.

good photojournalism. the flare and haze in the lens and the weird angle on the bus give it a faded nostalgic quality. interesting image.

Not sure that this shot is well served by B&W. And the dark thing in the upper right corner is a bit distracting.

Play on words here? --transit~transition-- Would have been better if the bus wasn't so cropped. The sky is nice looking, but, as I found to be the case in my submission, its a bit distracting

Very well done. I especially like the black and white effect. You have a very creative eye! :)

I think the sky is pushing everything else into underexposure, and it isn't all that interesting.

neds some contrast work -- also kind of misted/foggy in places like your lens may need cleaning
04/23/2002 09:52:00 AM
yep it fits challenge - framing a little off

??

don't understand the transition, seems like there was some sort of smog in the way of your shot also
04/22/2002 04:50:00 PM
Black and whites should have both. This has neither just gray.
04/22/2002 02:00:00 PM
Nice Shot! I love the black and white. I think a little more exposure would have brightened the bus up a little, eh? :) Good job!
04/22/2002 01:19:00 PM
Whats the transition?
04/22/2002 10:23:00 AM
wtf
04/22/2002 08:58:00 AM
Good shot, although maybe crop an inch off the top.
04/22/2002 08:32:00 AM
Angle cuts off too much of the bus and shows too much of the sky.
04/22/2002 07:43:00 AM
framing could have been a bit lower, to get the whole bus and loose some sky. Background seems cluttered
04/22/2002 01:59:00 AM
I would have loved the added interest of someone getting on or off the bus.
04/22/2002 01:11:00 AM
The idea of moving on to a new chapter in life also came to me. I would have chosen a Greyhound or a moving van instead of a local transit bus to bring the message home. Without the title, the picture by itself is a weak message.
