I gave this a 5, and pretty much for the same reasons as others stated. I loved the old building and the soft feel and I like what I perceive the concept to be, but the distraction of the dress, both in color and in the busy design was almost overwhelming for the rest of the image. I just felt the image needed something to make it more cohesive.

I gave this a six and I know it would have been even an eight if, as grahamgator said, the dress was not so bright. I think from your title that you wanted the dress to stand out but I just want it to fade in and I want the texture to extend over her, too. Maybe you intended an "on the edge of something" sort of impact - two times, two places, two cultures. In that case, you might have done better to have her in a short, sassy dress. As it is, the long dress makes me feel she should fit in better, not stand out. It's just not quite working for me.

I really like this image a lot, especially the setting. It has all the elements of a good story and a striking image. However, he stark color of the dress draws all of my attention. I think if she was wearing something a little softer in color to blend in with the environment it would, imo, look better. I am just an amateur photog and I tend to like muted colors, so take this with a grain of salt.

Beautiful. I love the old America type of feel.

This image stirs up elements of story (where has the subject been, why is she walking along the road dressed up in an area with rustic porches), and a sense of mystery (why is there an orange shining at the edge of the road, why does the setting seem less real than the subject, ...). The white irregular streak along the left suggests the impact of time in storage on an old printed image, adding another layer of thought. Much to consider, much to appreciate.
