I'm so grateful for your high votes and comments! And I have a fave from Clive!! Very honored.
I love taking portraits and am just so lucky to be surrounded by beautiful people! The boy in the photo, like Daniel - the main character of the book - is about to turn 11 and loves reading. I hope he will pose for me again, he's a wonderful actor!
Thank you to his dad with his handsome hands and mom, for help with appropriate attire and balancing act on the chair, holding our only light source - iPhone flashlight. :-)

She's a Lighting Master! Both "He"s are an excellent model. And... you're not too bad yourself! :D

This is wonderful.

Just saw this on my DPC FB feed and had to come and comment: This is fantastic. I loved The Shadow on the Wind! This captures the awe and wonder on Daniel's face when his father first shows him the Cemetery of Forgotten Books perfectly. This could be a still from a movie. Great light, mood, and capture - congratulations on capturing the scene beautifully and winning the blue!

My stand alone 10, I had three 9's. I thought this one was beautiful in all the ways everyone else has mentioned: lighting, expression, location and pose, look of the boy including costuming, tones, fit to the line and story. So wonderfully done. Congratulations.

For the ones who say that advanced editing images can't win expert editing challenges :)

It's a wonderful photo and the young actor is perfect in his role.

Great image, suits the challenge and the book line that you chose. The skin tone on the boy is wonderful, and the lighting is excellent too. You got a 9 from me!

This is lovely, that boy really suits the part, with his wide eyes, and ole charming hat. One of My top picks. Bumping up.

Ohh... The Shadow of the Wind: I enjoyed this book very much. And I think your entry is a great illustration of it, it has the necessarey vintage look because of the flat cap and the buttoned up shirt. I would have guessed that book even without your title.
