I do think this photo should be in the 5.8-6 range, a little above my predicted score. I think the subject photographed well but the dof could be a lot better.

This was mostly a grab shot while getting in a mile walk at the park. I agree that the background is too busy, better dof would've helped.
That green does almost go neon! :-)
Probably a tad over sharpened too however I have noticed that it does not look as over sharpened on my laptop, PC, or iphone. It does look over sharp on the iPad. This seems to be because of the iPad not being able to fit the image to the screen. Is there a way to get the iPad to do that? At this point the score is a little above my prediction.

Oh, this was the first crop. For some reason I thought it placed the squirrel too close to the right frame. Changed it at the last moment, a bad decision because cutting off the tail is pretty much a no-no.

Cute and alert and oh so sharp. I do want the rest of the tail :( Gave it a six. Guessing it will score quite a bit higher than your estimate but not quite my score. 5.8

Good closeup portrait of a squirrel. IQ is good but not top notch...perhaps oversharpened a bit, and the greens look a bit unnatural. I'd say you still underrated your own photo...I'd guess around 5.75.

I think this might do a bit better than 5.2 but it looks a bit over sharpened to me. The blue light that seems to be reflected is curious. I do like the sprouting greenery . More like 5.7 I think.

Squirrel self portrait? with those long fingers he'd have no problem with the shutter button. Great shot, I like the colour on this and how sharp it is. the expression is priceless this might end up at 5.6 or higher, seven from me, good Luck

I can see where the guess might come from, and I am going to be one of your 6's. Yes the background is a bit boring and doesn't really help your subject pop. But the color and detail on the squirrel is really fabulous I think.

I bet you are close. Cute subject, but the sharpening is a bit harsh to try to make up for softness.
