Yeah... I suggested this challenge topic... without any idea of what I would do for it. I mean... who would think that they'd actually CHOOSE it?

I went to the store and bought them... Toothpicks. (Had to ask an employee where they were.) Still no idea how to shoot them.. Stared at the toothpicks for days... Then, this idea came to me.

A "recreation" of a famous painting...

Thankfully, my model arrived home after being away for months... just in time.

She let me wrap two dresses of hers around her head and she wore a pleated skirt around her neck (pinned at the neck). It was quite odd looking from any other angle than this one. Ha! Actually, when she was standing there... before the two dresses on the head... just in the long skirt at her neck (now regular short-dress length)... I burst out laughing at her. I made her go look at herself in a full-length mirror.

It was hilarious. I should have taken a photo... but I was laughing too hard. Adorable, she is! LOL!

As an uninteresting note... I am usually very good at spacial issues. But... I had my model and the light (natural light from a window).

But... it was coming from the "wrong side" to make it like the painting. I knew I could flip the image after taking it... but I just couldn't make my mind wrap around it all... backward.

So... I "borrowed" an image of the Girl ... and put it in Photoshop... flipped THAT horizontally ... so I could position everything and "see" it easily.

I have no idea why I couldn't "see it" in my head.

I've always been good at spacial things before. *sigh*

But, I digress...

I'm glad that the pleats of the skirt don't appear to be pleats in the photo. It was really making her look modern in real life. But, in a photo, it appears two-dimensional instead of three.

Life is good. :D

Anyway... It's a silly image... but really... what's a girl supposed to do with a silly topic like "Toothpicks"??! :D

If you look at the painting... the girl's expression is quite unique. I couldn't get my model to come up with it... but I think I like this better on her anyway.

Plus, it looks like the model in the painting is drooling a bit out of the corner of her mouth.

I left that out. *grin*

But, yeah.

She put a toothpick in her ear for me.

That's love right there. :D
