One hears the saying 'art is subjective'. We praise what we like and ignore that which we do not. Art is always under the critical eye - either looking for holes/flaws or taking a closer look to discover just what strikes our fancy.

My original idea was to put my own spin on Irving Penn's 1949 picture titled Girl Behind the Wine Bottle . But I could not get a full or even partial refraction of my husband as 'Sherlock' with the magnifying glass in the wine bottle. I tried two bottles different distances, etc. no distintive shape showed in the bottle.

The back-up idea was a art critic examining a work of art. I asked my husband to crawl into the 4 foot by 4 foot light tent (glad I did not give that away because that helped cut down alot of the reflections). I placed this glass pitcher that we have as the art piece. None of the poses I originally thought would be good really worked because I was still stuck thinking of Irving Penn's model pose. My husband then came to the rescue with the suggesting he should look through the hole. Silly me. Of course that was what was needed! It worked beautifully - I love my husband!
