This is a spring that has become blocked and now shoots above ground. Since it is cold, it has frozen everything around it. Probably the closest thing to winter I am going to get this year! :-(

In my opinion, not a true landscape as it shows very little "land," but I thought I'd try and see what happend.

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Hi Karma :)

The 'landscape' scope of this shot is fairly narrow, but, IMO, that is OK. I did a fairly narrow landscape myself for this challenge.

There are a couple of things that bother me slightly about this particular image. First of all, it looks under exposed. It's sorta 'flat' on the color and tone ranges. I can see that it is a 4" exposure so this must have been shot in deep shade or at dusk. In a situation like this, I normally use a larger aperture... somewhere around F2.8 or F3.5 on this one would have worked nicely :) The image has an overall 'blue' cast to it. I'm not sure how your white balance was set, but an adjustment in this would have fixed that right up with the 707. Thirdly, the camera is tilted to the right. In a scene like this, the icecicles should hang vertically. The slant of the icecicles gives that one away pretty quickly :)

Keep up the good work :)

Nice find. The color really gives the feel of cold.

Wow, that's neat. Did you use a garden hose or was this natural? Great capture.

What do they call melted frost? I think I like this pic better than the title. I like how the glob glows. Nice job - Inspzil

With the right light, even artificial that ice could have really dazzled the viewer. Good luck,JG

As much as I like this photo I am having a difficult time viewing it as a landscape because the focus is so squarely upon the ice formation rather than the landscape or an area of the environment. It's too specific. If you would have stepped back and photographed this formation in it's environment I think it would have fit the them better. It is cropped very well, has nice colors and is technically well done. 6 -Tim

Hmm almost looks like just that one spot is frozen. Interesting.
