Challenge: Parts (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Nikon Coolpix 2000
Location: My dorm room, Flagstaff, AZ
Date: Oct 4, 2004

Date Uploaded: Oct 5, 2004

I took this photograph with my everyday Coolpix 2000 (count 'em) Nikon digi camera (can you tell?). The subject is the wind-up key of my good buddy Marvyn. It is an essential part of his machine because he can't walk without it. Marvyn is a tin robot, a paranoid android. Thanks for voting!

I see this is your first entry...keep it up, we look forward to seeing more from you!

I think the focus was the reason that this placed last. You had the right idea and a little more care would have allowed for a much better score. The subject could have also been placed in front of a more dramatic background (perhaps a solid black, white or colour).

The first photo I submitted entered last, but in the 5 or 6 challenges since I have improved my photography skills dramatically and I'm very glad I stuck around to learn from the other members here. I hope to see more of your entries in the future!

It would have been great if not the bad focus.
10/11/2004 05:29:38 PM
blurry
10/11/2004 02:19:29 AM
out of focus :(
10/10/2004 01:31:09 PM
too blurred for me
10/09/2004 09:48:47 PM
very out of focus, better focus, a more interesting angle could have helped this shot
10/09/2004 09:41:07 PM
I think you forgot to focus.
10/09/2004 07:54:55 PM
this is very unsharp maybe your camera cannot go this close. Try standing back a little more
10/09/2004 10:12:00 AM
can't tell what is in focus. good idea though, positioned well.
10/09/2004 01:19:21 AM
Too blured. Where is the focus?
10/09/2004 12:54:44 AM
Good concept but way too blurry
10/08/2004 10:20:24 PM
Completely blurry - unable to tell what this is.
10/08/2004 06:22:33 PM
very blurry
10/08/2004 06:21:01 PM
Needs focus
10/08/2004 03:33:13 PM
interesting subject but the focus is a little out,
10/08/2004 02:08:20 PM
Did you have a reason for shooing this out of focus? If so, it is not clear from the picture.
10/07/2004 08:12:59 PM
very out of focus
10/07/2004 04:38:46 PM
not sure where you're going with this... no focal point in the image.
10/07/2004 04:27:39 PM
Fits the challenge, but is too out of focus. Hard to tell what the object is without really studying it. A plain background might also help. Perhaps more lighting would help with the focus.
10/07/2004 03:07:31 PM
Ummm... not a clue what I'm looking at here, I'm afraid. Badly in need of some focusing...
10/07/2004 12:16:07 AM
This is a great idea, but it is very blurry, not at all in focus. Good Luck
10/06/2004 10:24:59 PM
Photo needs to be sharp.

I could guess what it was, but it`s way too blury.
10/06/2004 07:28:21 PM
I get it, but it's too out of focus for my taste.
10/06/2004 02:44:58 PM
Too blurry....
10/06/2004 01:16:03 PM
Good idea. I wish the photgraph was in focus and had a better light source. The light shines off the arm creating a distraction from what I imagine is the focal point of the photo - the wind-up part.
10/06/2004 11:25:03 AM
May I suggest a solid white or black background and a better focus on the part that is the subject of the photo.
10/06/2004 07:19:10 AM
Too out of focus for my tastes.
10/06/2004 05:16:57 AM
What is this? Are you having problem with your camera focus?
10/06/2004 05:10:15 AM
I like the angle - however a tighter focus on the key and robot would significantly improve this image
10/06/2004 02:18:29 AM
really needs to be focused
10/06/2004 02:03:10 AM
Theres something called "Focus", pay attention to that...
10/06/2004 12:23:21 AM
This has to be the most obvioulsy out of focus image I have evern seen submitted to this site. I'm sure you have some artistic reason that it works, but to me, this is simply a bad photograph and a waste of time to submit.
