A dead tree, leaning over at a dramatic angle on the ranch, was enhanced by an ongoing snowfall and a sky that was just crying out for a dramatic B&W treatment. My trusty 10-20mm Sigma at work again. I was up to my calves in fresh powder snow trying to find the perfect angle. Let's see how this fares...

I missed this during the challenge - great scene and I love your b/w conversion/processing.

Congrats on top ten. This was actually the only 10 I gave during this challenge. I really loved the angle of the trees, both forefront and the ones behind.

Dramatic - I find the lens distortion a plus here and love the conversion for the subject. Voted earlier; back to comment.

I like this tree, the use of black and white, and the sky behind it. Nice details throughout, too. I think it would have been even better if the conifers in the background had been straightened in post processing as the way they lean in on both sides of the image is a slight distraction IMHO.

Wonderful winter scene. The BW fits very well. Bumping up.

So this is what a tree's funeral looks like. I like the sense of melancholy here, and the graininess of the sky.

That tree doesn't look like it will make it. Beautiful scene I love the black and white

The wide angle makes the background trees appear to pull in towards the main subject.

Nice tonal range. The lens distortion is kind of funky but interesting.
