A strain of the imagination is hardly necessary to see what's left of the troll being held up for sacrifice -- about to be tossed into the charred heap. It's an image of hell, and I love it. I think the cinematic aspect ratio costs it some impact here (on any computer screen actually), but a crop would ruin it. It needs its own wall, where it would do nothing less than transfix and transform the viewer. Astounding work. My top pick.

Dark and terrible and dripping with blood and fluids and wood stain. Excellent work and the sacrifice is accepted.

Billboard size material definitely.A chance find that translates into a ritualistic act and symbolism truly on a primal level. I can almost hear the chanting and screams. I see fire, passion set against the darkness of a cruel and brutal wilderness that craves sacrifice.

This is so great...gave it a 10. I'm very new here. What is it? How did you take it?

Nice title. I don't see fire in this so the troll must be burning with passionate love for something. Probably dinner. I'm pretty sure trolls are hungry all the time. The colors are what caught my eye first, the combination of gold and green, the bright highlight/deep shadow. The implied fine texture is interesting to look at & relaxing at the same time. It has line, shape, & shadow but no real subject, making it an excellent abstract. A definite keeper.

on a humorous note, all DPC trolls should burn...
but this is way more than that and one of my picks for the challenge. I just love the colors and mood... maybe it has something to do with how hot it is here right now... but there is a cooling effect too. Wonderful image.
