Have to look for blue chilis next time:)
Seriously, I'm glad Joshua got the blue for his image, since I really don't like my shot very much, the smoke came out nice but the light (or absence of light) on the chili just sucks. Thanks for your votes and comments anyway!

Profoto D1 500 with 2x3 Softbox at 1/16 top front left, 430EXII fired with photo cell (which worked about every 10th shot) behind black cardboard back right.
Make-up mirror reflecting the softbox' light to the front of the chili.

My 8 year old thought this was "Flippin' cool." Wants to know if I'll teach how to shoot stuff like this.

Just thought you should know.

Sorry, with the TPL and "life" happening at the same time I had no time to vote or even "look" at these challenges. What a brilliant image. So glad you did well. Congrats

Love the idea! Not just another picture of the smoke by itself but something that actually makes sense and is clever. Plus it's technically perfect so I'm wondering if it's H2 :)

Beautiful black background...the red pepper just jumps off the page. I'm curious to know how you did this without combining two images.

Well done, tops for a ribbon. Like the creativity of association of the smoke to the pepper.

I will be very surprised if this is not an Oliver image!! Perfectly composed and lit. Not a thing I can find wrong with this. I suspect this is the Blue Winner.

Oh good. Someone remembered to do the chili pepper. Was worried it'd be forgotten. Nice clean shot, though I'm not sure the "smoke" is playing a major role here.

Clean and crisp. I prefer the smoke wisp images to have another subject in the image and this fits. Has a fell of Oliver to it.
