Truly loved and hated the idea of this challenge. Loved the idea of the challenge, hated that there really wasn't a good way of getting past sticking one's whole body in the challenge. If I was ScooterMcNutty, it wouldn't be a problem.

Thought about hiding up the stairs, but decided to just sit in the middle of the floor and get it over with. But then I realized that it was kind of stupid just sitting there, and I hadn't planned ahead. I needed a book!!

This was in the business school at the College of William and Mary. I looked around, and there was an end table with two coffee table books underneath a lamp. Voila!! I had a book!

Had no problem sitting in the middle of the floor blocking the pathway. Maybe it's because I started between classes, so no one was there to begin with. No one really paid any attention as they were going by. I was more worried about the camera set up in the hallway across the way -- I was afraid that someone would trip over the trip leg!

Actually, there was one funny moment in the beginning. I sat down and used the remote to take a shot and then got up again to go check the settings. As I was getting up, a lady came running over to me: "are you ok?? Did you fall??" I guess there was absolutely no reason someone would be getting up from the middle of the floor unless the fell... :)

I assured her I was all right and she went on her way.

I was doing .8-1.0 second exposures. I wanted everyone but me to be moving, but they all kept stopping. I ended up liking the mixed effect, which is good, because I never did have a shot with everyone moving.

And seriously, everyone wearing black suits?? An hour before while I was still setting up, I had regular students going by. This time I had the black suit brigade. It ends up setting things off more -- but it really doesn't help the post processing process. :)

All in all, a very interesting challenge idea. But one that needs more time and would benefit significantly with a helper. Very difficult to do on your own.

Thanks for all of the wonderful comments. I can't remember the last time I had 18 comments during one challenge. :)

I quite like this scene. Currently, my pic to win. Your self portrait does stand out from the business clad folks. And I find it intriguing that you're sitting on the floor reading a book and no one is paying attention to you. I just can't make up my mind if the ghostly image of the man touching the women on the phone helps or hurt. The image is soo strong it pulls me out of the image. I tend to look at that moment more than anything else.
