My wife getting a haircut. It's not the sort if thing I would normally shoot but while waiting it suddenly occurred to me that I could use this for the H Challenge. My kids were also getting cuts at the same time so I asked for permission to take some shots. I got a few nice snap shots of the kids but found myself in a position that had my wife silhouetted against a large curtained window. I got just the one shot when I was called to get my hair cut and this is it.
I knew I didn't have much time to take this shot and I had set the ISO to 1600 to shot the kids in the lower light and was set in Av so I really appreciated the rear dial to quickly change the exposure. I'm enjoying my new camera. I don't know how this will be received (lately my entries have come across as very boring) but I really like this image.
A little cropping, covert to B&W, adjusted curves and boosted blacks.

With about two hours to go on this challenge and I’m very happy and a bit surprised at how well this has been received. The comments are wonderful – thanks!
There are a lot of wonderful images in this challenge so I’m sure it will not ribbon but it would be nice to get my third Top Ten and in a challenge with more than 55 entries (my highest place is 4th in a challenge of only 33 entries). Here’s hoping for a TT.
Oh my! The Blue!!! I'm soooo happy! Thanks everyone for the lovely comments.

You really have the slice of life family thing down cold. My only complaint is that I want to be able to do the same thing, and just don't seem to have the knack. Excellent stuff. Congrats on the win!
