This is a complicated composition, and a big congratulations for presenting it so well.

Congratulations on the blue. It's a lovely shot - I love the colours and the streaks of rust. How appropriate that the boat on the right displays WIN!Message edited by author 2012-12-31 18:37:18.

I want to thank everyone for their votes and nice comments. I never thought that this would do so well, and especially not ribbon. It was sitting above 7.000 until vote 63, then started to slide. Oh well, not complaining. To Brent_S this was shot at Fisherman's Terminal. It was freezing cold that day, between rain storms. To figaro I would have liked to get different compositions, but to the left the boat's prows were in the water. There would be no way to do that logistically.

Gorgeous colors and a wonderful full frame entry that met the challenge. 9 from me. Congratulations on the blue ribbon

Congrats on the blue! It's like your boats set the stage for the boatyard-related paraphernalia to follow :-)

Congratulations on the blue ribbon. All three ribbon winning images have a nautical theme of some sort (Mine is not so obvious but it is the brake for the winch used in raising and lowering boats)

It's a tough environment for these boats... Reminds me of our periodic trips to New Bedford when we're always drawn to the piers to look at and photograph the fishing boats. Great capture of their wonderful colors and form/shape (voted earlier).

The colors emerge seductively from the relentless greys. Beautifully composed clutter.

Great subject. Could maybe experiment with different compositions on the same subject for a bit of added interest.

Meets the challenge very well. Wonderful weathering/rusting/corrosion. 9

Beautiful shot. Love the way the corrosion on the boats shows us the hard work and weather beat down it has endured.

WOW great shot that fits the challenge well.

I really like this. Excellent colours and composition with a very interesting subject that tells a great story of the effects of water. My pick for blue.
