I took this just a few hours before the end of the challenge, after unsuccessfully trying a number of other ideas; this is a view through my neighbour's fence. I have a few different shots and varieties of this that I liked, and I'll probably regret picking the one I did, as I followed the advice of everyone else I asked (it was unanimous) and chose the one that's not my personal favourite. I do like the intensity of the colours and shadows, however; I probably made the right choice for the site, as the version I like is very grainy, which doesn't sit well with DPCers. I'll post it after the challenge is finished.
Editing: Resized, cropped, curves, hue/saturation, unsharp mask, sharpening, levels, Neat Image, more sharpening, more curves, more levels. |

| Love the vivid red color of the flower, it really brings your eyes toward the subject. The lighting from the top give it a dramatic feeling. The metal fence framing the subject makes for the perfect contrast to the soft texture of the flower. "10" |
