No worries on those fronts guys.

We get nothing in terms of consideration from the site, but what we do get is even better: a more active community, and a whole lot of excitement and fun.

So don't let it bother ya, we're getting just what we wanted, and it's awesome.

This is exactly why I joined TPL.... I believe I made some great friendships that will continue regardless of what other shite goes on in the forums or anywhere else.... huge, massive thanks to those who organised it. Fantastic opportunity and certainly got me more involved than ever before.

Sorry to see you go Richard. I'm only on DPC for (less than) a year, but I already recognised your beautiful landscapes and I appreciated your comments on my entries. Wish you all the best!

I will miss your faboulus landscapes and wildlife photos. Likewise your constructive criticism on other people's entries. I wish you luck in future.

I tried to hang in there. It's too much hassle. Too many people hate me. The SC hates me. I get attacked by tear-down sharks when I am out doing my photography. I don't have time to sit on my butt watching the forums. The challenges here are often a waste of time because they are ill-conceived and/or poorly timed. There are many fewer quality challenges offered. There is a shift to Expert Challenges preference.... something I didn't sign up for. Legal collaborative efforts have evolved into cliques. Forum and voting rules are not enforced. I don't think anyone is in charge.

It's time for me to reallocate my time to better use. I have a photography business which is growing. DPChallenge has been very important to my development as a photographer. I loved the way I used to learned something new every day. In my mind it's a tragedy to observe this grand house descend into chaos. I suspect many will cheer my departure. So be it. I will miss my friends.

To my many friends... You know where to find me. I'll stand by until my May challenge entries complete their cycle.

I know we have had our differences in the past, but I have been very unactive on this site since SC singled out kenskid and I and tried to kick us off due to pure discrimination of not only political differences, but also of differences we have with many on this site, because we spoke our minds. I find they not only have their favorites, but look for ways to make the ones who disagree with them or comment negatively on their favorites' submissions have a less enjoyable experience because of it. The SC should be like the government...TERM LIMITS! Sorry to see you are leaving, but at least you now see some of what I have been saying about this site for a while. I agree that this site does not give back to the many who contribute, but in no way are they obligated to. They should do it, though, because without some of the people here, this site would be in the .com graveyard by now. I enjoyed our banter and bickering over the years. You are a wonderful LANDSCAPE photographer. I would definitely stick to that field of photography in your business. You excel there. Good luck, have fun. DLTDHYITA!!! HAHA. See ya.

One more plug before I go. In case the many of you who run across this thread do not notice, only 1...SC member even posted in this thread at the time of me posting this, and still did not ask the one question that should be asked immediately after hearing a long term PAYING member is leaving this site. Question should be? What can we do to make this site better so people like you will prefer to stay? Such a simple question, but not asked, which is why this site is taking a turn for the worse. Even the people that have their hands in it no longer care.

You say hatred, we say ribbing. That's one of your flaws Richard. You have no sense of humor. Had you had one, the many you say hate you would have made you laugh instead of frown.

Nope. I just think angry PMs from SC would be better than PMS (no SC involved). But I never got an angry PM from SC so I can't really compare. What do I do to get one?

Well, that's understandable, since the attempt to reprimand slippy on a real-time basis would almost certainly wear out keyboards at an astonishing rate.
