Do make sure you drop back by to post the link to your website when it is up and running! :-)

Sad to see you go. Of course I will still get to see your photography on Facebook but it won't be the same. But I understand your decision to leave, I've had similar thoughts. I have tried to hard in the last year to make DPC a place that still works for me and I think I have come to a good compromise. I'm sad that you were not able to make it work for you but I think there is a point when most outgrow it here. Thanks for all your help and being a wonderful mentor. Keep in touch.

I have passion for wildlife and the great outdoors and your work has always been an inspiration. Your thoughtful and meaningful comments have always been appreciated. I understand and wish you the best, as you are one of the best at what you do.

Yes, Melethia, I will do that. My membership is paid up until Mar. 9th, 2014. That anniversary date will complete 8 years of membership. I'll be able to post contact information on my profile page and in the forums, until then. I really don't know what registered users are allowed to do, as I've always been a paying member.

However, I will not be entering challenges, voting or commenting from this point forward. Thank God, I'm free.

Thanks, sjhuls and grahamgator. Your comments mean a lot to me. Of course, I'm not dying. I've never felt better. I'm just moving on!

1 down, 10 or so more till I'm the best DPCer from Colorado.

Just kidding of course.

Good luck in your business, I'll miss seeing your beautiful landscape shots of our beloved state.

Thanks for your comment. Come up to RMNP and I'll share my fav landscape locations. Someone needs to continue to present those beautiful landscapes (which have been declared "not artistic" by some). I'm sure it's just a fad that landscapes are out of favor at DPC. Nevertheless, the discrimination and unfair bias were significant reasons for my departure.

Will miss Your wildlife and landscapes, but I can see why you are leaving . I hardly ever enter anymore and i have never participated much in the forums. Good luck with what you decide to do, i am sure you will do well as you are a photographer and have a good eye for composition.
Go well

Richard, I will be sorry not to see your wonderful landscapes in the challenges. It seems obvious that this site is giving you more anxiety than joy, so I fully understand and respect your decision. On the other hand, the things in life that we have the most problems with are more than often the things that we could learn the most from, they bring to the surface all the negative crap we try so desperately to hide. If every time something here iritates you, you were simply to smile and embrace those negative emotions, you would soon see this site as a good freind, in fact if you could do that I bet within six months you would be joyfully submitting photos again.
I wish you the best of luck for the future.

Sorry to hear you are leaving. I have always admired your photos and appreciated your comments. Despite its shortcomings I still find this site an excellent tool to continue pushing me to try and improve my photography. Wishing you every success with your photography business.

If I'm ever in your neck of the woods, I hope you give me the nickel tour :-)

Best of luck, Richard.

Richard I am sorry that you are leaving - but that is sorry for me, that I won't see more of your beautiful landscapes and wildlife shots which I have so enjoyed. I am happy for you. If DPC has become a thorn in your side you are doing the best thing. I wish you well for your future peace and contentment. (And I will keep an eye on your profile so that I can follow your work elsewhere if you provide such details.)

Sorry to see you leaving, Richard. Though you are a drama queen, I always found you, your comments and your images entertaining (and honest). And after all I know we have more in common than we thought a while back. Good luck, wherever you will go!

Richard, for me your landscape shots have set the standard for the genre. Having tried to shoot some I've always been in awe of what you manage to produce. They've been inspirational in the true sense - they've made me try harder and become more aware of my deficits.

Your decision to leave seems to be well thought through, it's good that you see this as the opening of new opportunities.

Personally, I've benefited greatly by your presence at DPC, you've offered me advice in a kind, timely (read: near instant) and highly comprehensive way. Thank you for being so generous with your support.

I wish you well.

Best of luck Richard, I understand your reasoning behind your decision.

However, my motto has always been Illegitimi non carborundum, but you have to do what is best for yourself.

Best of luck, Richard. Your landscapes & wildlife images (and your drama) will be missed. :)

edited. On second thought, your drama was actually getting tiresome. I still am in awe of your photos, though.

After the absolute gong-show that was your mind-numbing drama fit over my story comments a few years ago, it kind of amazed me that you have stuck around this long. Leaving here is definitely probably best for you. Just try hard not to go off on any real-life customers like you sometimes went off around here eh?

Sorry to see you go Richard, but I understand the desire to close the book. I'm glad you will be keeping your profile up, do try to keep the links current as I have enjoyed your work over the years and even if you aren't here, if you could make here make it easier to find you there, then you will not have gone away where we who enjoy your work can not find you.

Happy Trails

Thanks, everyone, for the comments. It's 2:30am. Feel okay about the decision to stop my contributions at DPC. Back to sleep for three more hours. I lead a bird walk in RMNP at 8 am tomorrow. Am planning on about 15 participants.
