actually, erik, i thought your irae was a reference to the rastafarian tradition of ''getting irae'' or however they spell it. Which tends to be the opposite of ''irate'' :D

Actually, it's a transliteration of my old Chinese name, I Rei Ke, but I thought it sounded kind of irie, too. Then I remembered what it means, and I can't really say it doesn't fit. Sorry if I get impatient with folks here, but I use up all my patience on my day gig.

In my opinion to your question, NO. Sometimes a good black and white photograph takes more effort than color. Remember, the first photographs were all in black and white. Learn to respect the elders.... :0) -NBT

I started off with Photography at a community college back in 85 all I worked on for the following 3 years was taking black and white photos and developing them. So I guess I am an elder of some sort when it comes to bw photography.

My point is even though there are a few good bw shots some would of looked better in color. Also there is an increase in bw photos, 20% of this weeks submissions are bw whereas previous challenges had lesser number of bw photos.

Regarding setup shots vs gameplay shots I had some problems with a couple of the shots while some setup shots came out really good. I tended to rate the gameplay shots a bit higher just because a game goes beyond its componants.

[humor] If there is a car challenge I would hope that we wouldn''t see pictures of a stack of tires or radiators, in black and white turned upside down hahaha. [/humor]

We love pets. We would love to shoot your pet! Wait, that didn't come out right.

After you shoot your subjects, do you blow them up too?

Anyone else remember the camp song that went something like... I ran over my red dog rover?

Rjhawkin,

Was that a Dr Demento song? I seem to recall one called Dead Puppies and there was the camp favorite Fish Heads.

shoot em, blow em up (not with bombs but with bicycle pumps - points if you can guess where we put the airhose), peel them and dip in cocktail sauce, have obese people sit on them until flat, the list goes on and on ... : )
