It was the FIAs problem, in the end it is up to the FIA to put on a good show, they didn't. Sure Michelin showed up with the wrong tire, but there were many plans put forth, including Michelin flying in new tires to make the race happen. But in the end the FIA, in typical "we're untouchable" FIA fashion, choose to not take the fans into consideration at all and put on a poor show.
Having been an F1 fan for years and going to many races including all the races at Indy, this sport is almost dead to me.
