We on Team Arabesque have 10 members with 116 ribbons. 89 of those ribbons are in the hands of 3 players; Judi, Doc, and Ursula. But Doc, for example, hasn't ribboned in the last year, and Ursula only once since 2007; |
I wish everyone could some day be a Ribbon Hog, cause:
- Once a Ribbon Hog, hardly again a Ribbon Hog. It's full of examples out there. You quickly realize that a good pic it's much more important for you than a Ribbon, and let me tell you: - Winning a Ribbon it's so easy!!! but shooting a really "good" photograph it's a completely different story, and a "good" pic, here at DPC, usually don't have enough recognition for winning a Ribbon :(
So, there's no reason to be concerned with all these old Ribbon Hogs ;)

You know you are success when your site average drops a full point during the DPL! That should be your goal. ;) |

It's now 13 hours to go and things are not looking good to get 48 teams finalized. That's such a shame with 114 willing players still left in the pool! We need just five more teams to get to 48 and there are six unfinished teams created. Two of them have just one person which makes me wonder if the creators are even actively recruiting?
To the site Council:
I know you don't want to strip the pool of talent for the captains that are frantically trying to recruit at the moment. But things are getting down to the wire. Pretty soon here it might be acceptable to all involved if you guys stepped in as temporary captains of a couple of newly created teams. You could just fill the teams with willing people selected from the pool and then let them decide who will be permanent captain once they are grouped together. Just a thought, and again I realize there are still captains trying to recruit from that pool...

There are 8 teams that have yet be finalized... of those, 5 of them appear to actually have a chance, which would bring the team count to the exact number needed. If push comes to shove, I will either force finalize those teams or manually add users from the free agent pool so that they can be finalized naturally.
For the remaining Free Agents, teams with only 7 members can still fill up their team during the season if they choose to do so. |

Thanks for that info Langdon! Feeling much more optimistic about getting to 48 now :-) |

Are we still going with the top four scores, or will that number be increased based on larger team sizes?

It is capped, perhaps too high but really does it matter? None of us complain when our footy team blitzes the competition, but it does make the others work harder |
Oh I'm not complaining. It's nice seeing the old faces. Besides, if memory serves me right they rarely win it all anyway.

We on Team Arabesque have 10 members with 116 ribbons. 89 of those ribbons are in the hands of 3 players; Judi, Doc, and Ursula. But Doc, for example, hasn't ribboned in the last year, and Ursula only once since 2007; so total ribbons can be deceptive as far as calculated averages go. We were nowhere NEAR the cap.
The cap is calculated on current rankings (as it should be), not lifetime rankings.
What I find interesting is that many of us would LOVE to see two sets of stats: lifetime stats (what we have now) and quarterly, or even monthly, stats (more like what they used to calculate the cap). That's how we do it in our game-playing league. I'm a "ribbon hog" in yahoo spades, I been playing in the league (eliters.com) for 10 years, and very few people have a chance of catching me or the couple people ahead of me. But in the quarterly stats, it's a new game every 3 months, and that keeps interest up.

Well I figured most of your ribbons were held by Ursula and Jason. I overlooked your team because I didn't realize Judi has so many ribbons now. I remember a time when I had around the same number as her, Irene and Timfy. I guess that's what happens when you stand still.

Currently there are 115 users in the free agent pool.
A total of 50 teams have been created so far, and 43 of those are finalized.
Note: Just 6 hours and 36 minutes to go until sign-ups close.
5 more teams need to be finalized in about 6 hours!!! Maybe it's time for that suggestion made a while back about combining two teams?
I'm in a team finalized in the first 24 but I'd hate to see so many people not get to play so come on you last five teams get in there and get it done. |

I wouldn't worry. Langdon has it in hand. there will be 48 Teams!

It's just bizarre that so many are signed up in the free agent pool, but team creation/finalization has stalled so completely.
(and yes, I know Langdon will get those 48 teams done, but he shouldn't have had to, I mean, DANG.)

It is bizarre! must be frustrating for the people in the free agent pool. Maybe some of them should get together quickly and form there own team and beat those captains who seem to be stalling.

I suspect given that nothing has changed at all in the last few hours there may be a glitch of some kind? Hopefully that will get sorted! |

The original Ribbon hogs had 205 ribbons with only 7 members and their group percentile finish is above 87%. There are several teams with over a 100+ ribbons but there is no real ribbon hog team like last time, where they ran through the league with and average of 6.94 as a team. I think the cap was set high but not too high. It will be competitive for the championship this season, where last time it was never a doubt. |

I was/am really lousy at math.
Would someone tell me exactly what this "Cap" business means?
