Where's that "None of the above" option? |

Very kind, thoughtful, and considerate for the SC to ask, but I vote no polls for speed challenges. I agree with the OP; the charm of a speed challenge is not being able to think about it for days ahead of time.

I agree, Speed Challenges should be spontaneous, thinking on your feet. Anyway, with no children here, no baskets and certainly no Peeps in UK, no chance:)) |

Where was the choice for eggs? Not one mention of an Easter Egg...and we don't have kids, so all of the other stuff is null and void, too! :P
Another one I'll sit out. |

It's in your decision to not enter. :)
I like the spontaneity of speed challenges although they've been very rare in the past 18 months or so.
Knowing beforehand that a speed challenge will be announced is like having a challenge every week, nothing to get overly excited about since we know it's coming.
What if my Easter is celebrated by doing absolutely nothing other than enjoying the day off work? I would love to photograph that but someone has decided that Easter means 4 things and 4 things only. ;| Nudge nudge wink wink

I voted jelly beans too... I like jelly beans, so getting to eat them is a nice "reward" and as my kids are away this weekend I a) don't have to share, and b) well my kids are away, so children doesn't work for me... although chances are, I'll just end up eating the jelly beans and have no photos :P LoL |

Just wondering....as I've never participated in a speed challenge before....but if you just took the pics (and you posted that on 3/29) will those images be legal in the challenge? I mean don't they have to be shot within a certain time frame....like after the challenge is announced? |

Yes, you have to wait to shoot until after the challenge is announced. The weird thing about this poll, though, is that anyone with time on their hands can get a head-start by testing setups in anticipation of the challenge. If the predicted topic doesn't materialize, you haven't lost anything since it's still good experience...

The predicted topic could materialize, but have additional terms that screw up advanced planning. Just sayin.' ;-) |

I hope its not children. Kids already move too fast without adding extra speed to them. ;) |

I like being surprised.
I like to complain about the Speed Challenge topic whatever it is. *grin*
I like to enter my lame entry anyway.
That's the fun of a Speed Challenge.

Or if you change the date on your camera you could take the shots today hoping they would pick the one you shoot...... Not that anyone would do that! |

There would be some guessing but to be on the safe side shoot the same shot using a few dates on either side of easter and you should be safe........:) |

To all the complainers about whatever subject it ends up being, go join the "Abstract Club" and enter any damn thing and call it "Abstract Children" or "Jelly Beans in the Abstract" etc. Or better yet, (if it ends up being Children) take a self portrait of yourself whining and crying and title it "WAAAAAHHHH"
Sorry - this thread made me grumpy. |
